Giovanni Longo received a degree in Civil Engineering in 1993 and is PhD in Transport Engineering since 1997. He is professor of “Transport Planning”, “Transport System Design” and “Railway Operations” at the University of Trieste, Italy. He has been involved in a number of projects in the field of transport planning, traffic management and control, and railway operations analysis and simulation in Italy and in 27 foreign Countries in the world. He is founder and scientific director of LIFT (which is a spin-off company of the University of Trieste founded in 2007). He has published more than hundred scientific papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
