Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg
Tim Franken is an academic researcher at the chair of thermodynamics and thermal process engineering at BTU Cottbus, Germany. He obtained a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and energy technology in 2014 from BTU. Together with his colleagues in Cottbus and around the world, he focuses on the integration of zero-dimensional and three-dimensional simulation tools in engine and fuel co-optimization processes. For this purpose, the group also develops sophisticated fuel models based on detailed chemistry to account for the complex oxidation process of hydrocarbon- and nitrogen-based fuels.
